You’ve said YES to the ring, and now it’s time to say YES to the dress! It can seem daunting to know where to begin when trying on wedding dresses, but right now we’ll tell you when to start- well in advance!
When shopping for a wedding dress, the process is a bit more complicated than just falling in love with a gown. After you find your dress alterations come next, and more fittings down the road. You want to give yourself plenty of time to get it fitting just the way you want without feeling rushed.
Here are our guidelines to know when to start shopping for your wedding dress!
1. Is your venue booked?
We highly recommend booking your wedding venue and date before beginning your search for plus-size wedding dresses in Jacksonville, FL.
This is also helpful because then you can start to visualize the overall feel of your wedding and start planning a timeline.
2. When to start shopping...
Once you have your venue and date set, then it’s time to start planning your wedding dress appointments.
Our gowns are all made to order, by hand, and take anywhere from 4-6 months to arrive in store.
Then you will need alterations to perfect the fit of your gown, and you’ll want to allow 2 months for this process!
3. Are you in a time crunch?
Every bridal timeline is different, and that’s ok! There are rush options available when you need a wedding dress fast.
Bear in mind that rush orders incur extra fees, and it’s best to avoid that if possible. But know that you aren’t out of options- we are here to help you find your dream dress no matter what!
4. If your wedding is more than a year away…
Your wedding might be set to take place in a year or more, and you might be itching to start trying on dresses!
We understand how exciting it is, but also recommend waiting a bit. Styles and tastes can change, and certain gowns can be discontinued. At Curve, we want to make sure you start your search when you are ready to say yes to the dress!
